Car Loan Program

This program assists individuals in obtaining and maintaining transportation for the continuation of employment, to gain employment, or to continue education. Eligibility guidelines apply. Program available for residents of Otter Tail County, Wadena Counties and City of Detroit Lakes.

Emergency Loan

When available, money may be used for vehicle repairs and other related expenses (e.g. gas/oil, license tabs, initial insurance). The minimum loan amount is $50, and the maximum is $450. The loan amount may be up to 80% of the total cost needed to resolve the crisis. Successful applicants will already be working with another self-sufficiency agency such as an area college, Workforce Center, County Social Service Office, Head Start, etc.
