Are you or someone you know struggling with daily care or employment due to disability or mobility limitations?

Talking, reading and/or writing is difficult or not possible for some persons due to physical, cognitive or learning disabilities. Does someone you know have difficulty communicating or lack the ability to talk read, or write even though they seem to know what they want to say?

Necessary equipment such as wheelchairs, braces or other devices help many people get from place to place. Would a locally provided assessment, fitting or repair for these devices be beneficial?

The Assistive Technology Network is an organized regional network of individuals with disabilities, family members, and various providers of disability related services who seek to increase access to and awareness of assistive technology within the counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin.

What is Assistive Technology?

Any item that is used to increase, maintain, or improve school, work, and/or daily living capabilities of an individual with a disability including:

  • wheelchairs or seating systems
  • communication devices
  • environmental controls
  • adaptive equipment
  • braces or splints
  • artificial limbs
